The Division of Ideological and Political Theories is an independent institution for teaching ideological and political theories in the university. The division plays an important role in fostering correct views about the world, life and values of students, and in cultivating their all-round development.
Among the 35 faculty members, there are 28 teachers, including two professors, 11 associate professors, and two teachers with doctorate degrees. The division now has five teaching and research sections: Political Theory, Ideological and Moral Education, Humanities, Law, and Mental Health. They are responsible for teaching ideological and political theories and humanistic knowledge to students. Plus, the division has set up a party branch of 27 members.
Guided by the System of Theories of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, the division has courses on: “Mao Zedong Thought and the System of Theories of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics”, “Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Fundamentals of Law”, “Situation and Policy”, “Professional Ethnics and Vocational Guidance”, “College Chinese”, “Economic Law” and “Mental Health”. All of the teachers of the division strive to improve the ideological understanding and theoretical level of students. Meanwhile, lectures in “Situation and Policy” are given to students to expand their social awareness.
